To use the service successfully keep up with the following instruction:

1. Ask for an ‘electronic reimbursement document’ when you buy goods at a shop.
2. Validate the ‘electronic reimbursement document’ before checking your baggage at the airport when you leave Spain.
3. Find any of the DIVA screens, and scan the bar code on the form with the optical reader. The document will be automatically validated.

For a VAT refund, you will need a passport, receipts, DIVA form, boarding card or ticket, and goods for which you would like to receive the value-added tax.
